Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Ukraine Wali Monawar

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Ukraine Wali Monawar.

The NSDC Secretary and Mr. Ambassador stressed the importance of intensifying bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, military-technical and cultural spheres. “We have many topics for cooperation”, - Mr. Danilov said adding that given the new challenges, it is necessary to develop cooperation, in particular in the cybersecurity sphere.

The parties also discussed the signing of a Memorandum of bilateral security cooperation.

During the meeting, Mr. Ambassador noticed that his country seeks to develop relations with Ukraine, which is important for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and expressed support for the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of our state.

Mr. Ambassador also expressed the importance of Ukraine’s more active involvement in multilateral cooperation – with Afghanistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
