Oleksiy Danilov instructed ministries and agencies to intensify work on the implementation of the state defense order

Subjects of the security and defense sector of Ukraine are obliged to ensure proper execution of the state defense order in the current year.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stressed this during the interagency meeting on the implementation of the decision of the NSDC of Ukraine of February 18, 2020 “On the key indicators of the state defense order for 2020, 2021 and 2022”, which took place at the NSDC Staff.

Mr. Danilov reminded that according to the document approved in 2020, financing in the amount of 25,848 billion hryvnias is provided for the SDO implementation, which is 16% more than in 2019. The NSDC Secretary also noted that the government had established a new Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, which is responsible for coordinating SDO.

Mr. Danilov drew the attention of some state customers who took part in the meeting to the unacceptably low pace of the SDO implementation.

Participants of the interagency meeting, including representatives of state customers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for Strategic Industries, the SC "Ukroboronprom" discussed the state of the SDO implementation for 9 months of this year, problematic issues and proposals for their solution.

Based on the results of the discussion, the representatives of ministries and agencies were instructed to intensify the work on the SDO implementation; to provide in the current year the complete supply of weapons and equipment under contracts of 2019-2020; to take into account the problematic issues of the SDO implementation in the current year when adjusting the draft defense budget for 2021.

The SDO must be fully completed no later than the first decade of December this year.
