Financing of the security and defense sector bodies in Ukraine in January-March 2020 was fully completed

Within the framework of control over the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of November 2, 2019 “On Proposals to the Draft Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020” in regards to articles related to national security and defense of Ukraine, the NSDC Staff has analyzed the state of relevant financing of the security and defense sector of Ukraine during January-March 2020.

Financing of the security and defense sector of Ukraine under the general fund of the state budget during this period was fully completed according to the monthly schedule - 48 592,5 million hryvnias.

The dynamics of revenues to the special fund of the state budget in January-March 2020 was also positive. According to available data, over 35% of the revenues from the annual plan were received by the special fund of the state budget during this period.

It should be emphasized that the needs of the security and defense sector of Ukraine in 2019 were funded in the amount of 218 billion hryvnias or 5,48% of GDP, which meets the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On National Security of Ukraine”.

Based on the results of the analysis, Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov instructed the Interagency Working Group on Preparation of Materials for the NSDC meeting on proposals to the Draft Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021” to prepare proposals for improving the efficiency of use of budget funds on articles related to national security and defense of Ukraine.
