Serhiy Demedyuk: A number of international companies have joined the work on countering cyber threats in Ukraine

On February 24-28, in San Francisco (US, California), one of the largest cybersecurity events in the United States is taking place - the RSA Conference. This year, the International Cybersecurity Forum (ICSF) was held as part of the Conference. Representatives of Ukraine headed by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Demedyuk took part in the event.

The main topics were the vectors of attacks on electoral security systems, as well as the practices and lessons learned by each country in responding to such threats. Particular attention was paid to counteracting disinformation disseminated online during elections.

"Establishing rapid communication with experts from the world's leading countries is an essential part of the cyber-threat response mechanism. We are open to interaction and ready to share our experience in countering cyber threats", - Mr. Demedyuk noticed.

Moreover, during the Conference, the Ukrainian delegation informed foreign partners about the current threats of hybrid war and the development of the cybersphere in Ukraine. They also discussed the possibilities of joint information and cyber security projects in Ukraine, including the adoption of new telecommunication technologies and the implementation of national initiatives to digitize public administration and economy.

The Deputy NSDC Secretary reported that during his working visit to the US, the Ukrainian delegation also held a number of meetings with private companies to facilitate cyberdefense cooperation.

Demediuk1.jpg"We held a number of meetings with private companies and discussed areas of cooperation. A number of cybersecurity companies have already agreed to cooperate with Ukraine in developing reliable cyberspace protection", - Mr. Demedyuk said.

It bears reminding that in 2016 the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity at the NSDC of Ukraine was established to respond and counter cyber threats. In 2020, the capabilities of the Center have been enhanced. In such a way, the Center operates as a platform for cooperation with major private companies in countering cyber threats.
