Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov and US Department of State Counterterrorism Coordinator Nathan Sales discussed bilateral cooperation in countering terrorism
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with Acting Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, US Department of State Counterterrorism Coordinator Nathan Sales.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of Ukrainian-American cooperation, in particular, in the counterterrorism sphere.
The NSDC Secretary expressed his gratitude to the United States for its lasting strong support of our state: "We are grateful to the American people for the sincere help and support of Ukraine in these hard times of war with the Russian aggressor", - Mr. Danilov said.
Mr. Danilov emphasized that countering the terrorist threat is one of the key issues in this context. "We understand the insidiousness of terrorists, and the fight against terrorism is one of our main challenges. In this respect, cyberterrorism today comes to the fore", - the NSDC Secretary pointed out emphasizing the need to strengthen practical cooperation between Ukraine and the United States particularly in the exchange of information on terrorist threats.
In his turn, Nathan Sales assured of the US's unwavering support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders. Mr. Sales expressed his gratitude to Ukraine for its readiness to cooperate with the US in counterterrorism, emphasized the US's readiness to strengthen collaboration with Ukraine in this area, as well as to provide our country with all necessary assistance in the development of counterterrorism capabilities.
