Oleksiy Danilov and Pawel Soloch: Ukrainian-Polish security cooperation is promising in different formats

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov held a meeting with State Secretary, Head of the National Security Bureau of the Republic of Poland Pawel Soloch, who is paying a two-day working visit to Ukraine.

At the beginning of the meeting, the NSDC Secretary expressed his gratitude to Poland for its consistent support of our country in its European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. "Poland is our loyal friend and reliable partner in the current tough times for Ukraine. We greatly appreciate this", - Mr. Danilov said.

In response, Mr. Soloch spoke in praise of the visit of the President of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, noticing that Volodymyr Zelenskyy makes significant efforts to intensify the Ukrainian-Polish relations and adds new dynamics to international relations.

Mr. Danilov informed his Polish colleague about the ongoing investigation of the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737 flight PS 752 plane crash in Iran, the work of the group of Ukrainian experts.

The parties exchanged views on the current situation in the area of ​​the Joint Forces Operation. The NSDC Secretary acknowledged that, despite the agreements reached during the meeting in the Normandy format, the dynamics of firing Ukrainian positions, unfortunately, remains negative.

Oleksiy Danilov and Pawel Soloch discussed in detail bilateral cooperation in the security and defense sector, particularly in the military-industrial complex, as well as the intensification of cooperation at the level of the staffs and experts of the two agencies.

In this context, the NSDC Secretary spoke in favor of the importance to further develop cybersecurity cooperation, noting that "cyberattacks and information war waged against Ukraine are extremely dangerous".

The parties also exchanged views on the situation in our neighboring countries, as well as in Europe and the world.

Mr. Danilov and Mr. Soloch spoke for the need to expand the regional dimension of cooperation, in particular in the Black Sea and Baltic regions.

The Head of the National Security Bureau of the Republic of Poland emphasized on the successful cooperation within the framework of the joint Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade (LITPOLUKRBRIG) and expressed the opinion on the feasibility of establishing such military cooperation between Ukraine, Romania, and Poland.

The parties also considered the possibility of continuing activities in the format of the "Strategic Dialogue" of national security chiefs of Ukraine-Poland-US-Belarus, initiated in Warsaw on August 30 last year, noticing that there exists interest in maintaining and developing this format of cooperation.

The Head of the National Security Bureau of the Republic of Poland stressed that his country has consistently supported the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. He also noted that despite military aggression, Ukraine persistently implements reforms in all spheres of the state's life.
