Ukraine and Japan have held consultations on cybersecurity

During the second round of consultations taking place in Tokyo on January 23, the parties discussed practical aspects of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in the cybersecurity sphere. The Ukrainian delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhii Demediuk included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine.

The issues of reviewing national cybersecurity strategies and discussing recent incidents in cyberspace were also considered.

According to Mr. Demediuk, such consultations are vital for establishing effective work of Ukraine and Japan in the field of cybersecurity of both countries.

"This is the second round of Ukrainian-Japanese cybersecurity consultations. Such bilateral cooperation today allows us to develop a clearer plan for further movement towards improving systems and measures for response to future threats", - the Deputy NSDC Secretary noticed.

Following the first day of consultations, the parties agreed on the interaction of the competent authorities of the two countries in developing open, interoperable, reliable and secure cyberspace.
