Closed-cycle production of fuzes for artillery shells has been established at the “Shostka State Plant «Impulse»
On Tuesday, representatives of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine visited the state enterprise «Shostka State Plant «Impulse», where they examined the closed-cycle production of detonating fuzes for artillery shells.
Virtually for the first time in the history of Ukraine, a new production complex has been established on the basis of the «Shostka State Plant «Impulse»; with design technological documentation available, this complex is capable of producing the required amounts of the entire range of igniting sets for all artillery and missile weapons, in particular, all types of fuzes and other components for ammunition.
To establish this production, the «Shostka State Plant «Impulse» carried out significant work to prepare the workshop, which meets the international standards of high-precision production. Moreover, personnel, capable to work independently on all types of installed equipment, to adjust it and to develop programs for the operation of such machines, was trained.
Today, the plant has successfully tested the experimental batch of the B-429 fuze.
Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov called the establishment of the closed-cycle production of fuzes a significant event for the domestic defense industry. According to him, the production complex was built in 9 months, and from the beginning of next year, the enterprise is ready for the serial production of B-429 fuzes and other elements of fire chains on the highest-class equipment. «Ukraine can be proud, - he said. - The decision to renovate the «Impulse» plant was made last year, and thanks to the efforts of its staff and the top management, this task has been completed one hundred percent».
