Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk held a coordination meeting on reforming the military-industrial complex; members of the supervisory board of the SC "Ukroboronprom", Director General of the Concern, advisers to the NSDC Secretary and representatives of the NSDC Staff attended the meeting.
The US Government was represented by US Senior Military-Industrial Complex Reform Advisor Donald Winter, US Chargé d'affaires, a.i. in Ukraine William Taylor, officers of the US Embassy and defense institutions.
The key topics of the meeting were the process of reforming the overall system of management in the military-industrial complex, in particular, the SC "Ukroboronprom". The participants discussed promising directions of the Concern's development and the process of forming a new model of public administration in the military-industrial complex.
As a result of the meeting, a decision was made regarding the state body that should serve as a shareholder of the SC "Ukroboronprom", structure and principles of formation and operation of the supervisory board, development of marketing strategy and sales system in the SC "Ukroboronprom". Also, the participants of the meeting reached an agreement on the issue of conducting a comprehensive audit of the Concern.
"The "Ukroboronprom" should become an example of an effective system of management of a state company. Given the specifics, this should be a business with a clear core mission - providing the Ukrainian military with whatever is required", - the NSDC Secretary emphasized.
Mr. Danyliuk thanked Donald Winter and the US Government for providing professional expert assistance in reforming the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.
