Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk expressed his deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed during the shelling of the medical vehicle in Vodyane.

Yesterday morning, a medical vehicle of Ukrainian forces came under the deadly fire of the militia's anti-tank missile launcher near the village of Vodyane. One soldier died on the spot, a doctor died in the hospital from grievous wounds.

"My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims. They, like dozens of soldiers who died, were real heroes of Ukraine who fearlessly and selflessly fulfilled their duty.

Shooting doctors when they evacuate the injured is like attacking a person from the back. This is unacceptable both from an ethical point of view and in view of the norms of international law", - Mr. Danyliuk stated.

The NSDC Secretary stressed that such acts of aggression threaten to wreck all efforts to peacefully resolve the conflict in the Donbas.

"This situation should be addressed at the Trilateral Contact Group meeting", - he said.
