The Armed Forces of Ukraine received new aircraft, helicopters and UAVs

Today, at the airfield near Kiev, President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, transferred powerful military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received combat aircraft namely: multirole MiG-29 fighters, heavy multirole high-maneuvering all-weather Su-27 fighter aircraft, combat and transport helicopters, L-39 training aircraft, and unmanned aerial systems.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak, and Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko visited the airfield.

After the ceremony of transferring the equipment to the Armed Forces, the attendees inspected a new Ukrainian military transport aircraft An-77. According to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine, this plane is "one of the best in its class, and fully complies with NATO standards". "The uniqueness of this powerful aircraft is that 800 meters of unprepared soil is enough for it to take off and land. The dimensions of the cargo hold are really impressive, it can carry large and heavy military equipment, helicopters and 300 paratroopers, and should become the main aircraft of the Air Assault Forces of Ukraine", - Mr. Turchynov said.
