Oleksandr Turchynov: Our path to victory depends on the professionalism, patriotism, responsibility, and heroism of intelligence officers
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov took part in the ceremony of laying the foundation for the first building of the renovated headquarters of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence.
Addressing the personnel of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Mr. Turchynov noted that Russia's hybrid aggression is ongoing in all directions - economic, energy, cybernetic, informational. "And in order for the government to respond promptly to events, making the right decisions, an objective, verified, and, most importantly, timely information is needed", - he pointed out.
"In modern conditions of violent confrontation, the intelligence community should have modern technologies to complete the tasks set by the state. The FISU is confidently moving in this direction, the most up-to-date space intelligence technology is being developed using the experience of domestic experts, serious steps have been taken in cybernetic intelligence and other intelligence components", - the NSDC Secretary emphasized.
"Despite the aggression and war, we are reforming the security and defense sector introducing the NATO standards", - he noted reminding about the amendments to the Constitution submitted by the President of Ukraine and adopted in the first reading by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with respect to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.
According to Mr. Turchynov, despite the tough economic situation, the financing of special services increases each year. And the construction of a modern European-level intelligence center has been launched today. "But any modern equipment and technology, any weapon does not work without the professionals who ensure the completion of the tasks set by the state. It is from your professionalism, patriotism, responsibility, and heroism that the future of Ukrainian intelligence and our path to victory depend", - he said.
The NSDC Secretary laid down a symbolic capsule in the foundation for the new intelligence center, and visited social facilities, in particular, dormitories and small-family houses for intelligence officers, and also examined the latest models of weapons and special equipment.
