Oleksandr Turchynov: Missiles of the SKDB “Luch” can precisely and reliably destroy the enemy
During his visit to the "State Kyiv Design Bureau "Luch" Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov inspected new developments and technology of the production of advanced missile weapons.
According to Mr. Turchynov, the SKDB "Luch" has become the leading developer of a wide range of modern missile systems in Ukraine. "Such powerful and reliable anti-tank missile systems as "Skif", "Stugna", "Corsar", "Sarmat", "Barrier" and others are known in Ukraine and far beyond its borders", - he said adding that these systems "effectively destroy enemy targets at the front and are deservedly respected and demanded in foreign arms markets".
Also, Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed that the missiles of the SKDB "Luch" hit the enemy's armor with high accuracy, and "can break through a meter of armor, overcoming modern protection and counteraction systems".
Mr. Turchynov inspected in the workshops of the enterprise technological lines, which ensure the production of a new powerful Ukrainian missile system "Vilkha", as well as a new Ukrainian cruise missile "Neptune".
"It is of fundamental importance to us that the missiles of the SKDB "Luch" are highly competitive with similar weapons of Russian production and are even better in combat capabilities", - Mr. Turchynov noticed during the awarding of leaders, chief designers, and engineers of the design bureau.
According to him, many missile systems were developed in the shortest time after the beginning of the Russian military aggression in 2014. "Then, the Ukrainian defense industry was faced with the task to restore the missile shield of our country, which was accomplished as soon as possible, first of all by the efforts of the SKDB "Luch", - Oleksandr Turchynov emphasized distinguishing the personal contribution of the general designer Oleh Korostylov, who was awarded by the President with the Order of Merit of the 1st grade for his outstanding personal contribution to the development of the defense-industrial potential of Ukraine and the creation of modern models of missile weapons. "Oleh Petrovich deservedly became the full Chevalier of this order", - he added.
Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine also held a meeting with the leadership of "Ukroboronoprom" and the SKDB "Luch", where they discussed new tasks for the implementation of the National Missile Program approved by the NSDC of Ukraine. In particular, the issue of new developments of multiple launch rocket systems, anti-aircraft missile systems and other priority tasks crucial for the reliable protection of the country were discussed.
