First Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy met with Minister of Defense of India Nirmala Sitharaman

On April 13, during "Defexpo-2018" exhibition, First Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy held a meeting with Minister of Defense of India Nirmala Sitharaman.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of Ukraine's participation in the "Make in India" defense industry development program.

The Minister of Defense of India confirmed India's interest in strategic cooperation with Ukraine. Mrs. Sitharaman emphasized the importance of the processes of integration of innovations and capabilities of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex within the framework of the "Make in India" program.

Mr. Hladkovskiy stressed that the key areas of this cooperation are naval, air force and armored vehicles. "This refers to the supply of Ukrainian gas turbine engines for the Indian Navy. We offer projects of complex modernization of tanks T-72 and BMP-2, "Zaslon" active protection system, the project of producing engines for Indian tanks", - he underscored.

Oleg Hladkovskiy also noticed that India is Ukraine's strategic partner in military-technical cooperation. "We have an immense potential for developing relations. We are interested in bilateral large-scale long-term projects, technology transfer, the creation of joint ventures in all directions of military-technical cooperation", - he stressed.
