Address of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom

Four years ago, Ukraine started its way to Freedom. Four years...But the events that took place during this time will be enough for a century.

This day is a day of dignity and sorrow, a day when we recall losses and victories. This day, protests began, which grew into a victorious Revolution of Dignity. Memories of these events cannot be squeezed in one day. But we need this day to remember. Remember that Freedom is worth fighting for, worth to give life for!

We remember the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, who won the victory of the Revolution, the volunteer heroes who went to war after the Maidan and have forever remained Heavenly warriors-defenders of Ukraine. May their memory live forever!

What have these four years taught us? That together, uniting our efforts, we will be able to do everything! We will be able to defeat the strongest and most violent enemy, we will be able to clear the country from dirt and build a powerful, democratic, European Ukraine!

May God always be with us. May our Heavenly heroes inspire us for new victories!
