Oleksandr Turchynov: I hope that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will identify Russia as an aggressor country in the nearest future

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov expressed hope that the Parliament will soon adopt in the first reading the draft law "On the aspects of state policy of the restoration of Ukraine's state sovereignty over the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions".

"I am convinced that the sound patriotic forces of the parliament will take a clear stance and at the legislative level will make a decision that identifies Russia as an aggressor country. And I do not advise one to interfere in making this decision", - Mr. Turchynov said on the TV-program "Pravo na Vladu" on Thursday.

Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine criticized the arguments of those people's deputies who opposed the adoption of the bill. Mr. Turchynov stated that "today, a crime against their own country was committed by those who blocked the tribune and did not let to adopt the law that defines the Russian Federation as an aggressor country, grants separate areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions the status of the occupied areas, and which clearly said that the occupational administration of the Russian Federation is operating in these areas".

"The main thing is that the bill provides a specific mechanism of de-occupation of Donbas, it ensures us very important legal stances in international courts, in negotiation processes, and, which is crucial, derails any attempts of the Russian Federation to continue aggression disguising under peacekeepers", - he said.
