Oleksandr Turchynov: Due to the cyberattack, the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity operates under quick response protocol
Due to the powerful cyberattack on broad-ranging information systems, the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity operates under quick response protocol. This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.
According to him, all state institutions that followed the recommendations of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity and were included in the protected circuit (protected Internet access) have not been affected.
"At the moment, cybersecurity experts are providing assistance to state agencies that were not included in the protected circuit for subjective reasons, to objects of critical infrastructure, as well as to the banking sector", - Mr. Turchynov adding that now, after the primary analysis of the virus, one may talk of the Russian trace.
At the same time, the NSDC Secretary insists that the decision of the National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity "is not optional but mandatory for all state agencies".
"We are talking about the need for all state agencies to be included in the protected circuit of the Internet and fulfill all requirements of cybersecurity experts. We also recommend that all banks do that as well, especially state-owned", - he emphasized.
