Oleksandr Turchynov: Ukrainian weapons are in demand on world markets
"The number of signed contracts and memoranda of cooperation shows that Ukrainian weapons and technologies are in demand on world markets", - Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov stated during his visit to the international defense industry exhibition "IDEF 2017" in Istanbul.
In particular, Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine informed that joint projects in the production of ammunition, memoranda on cooperation in the field of avionics, navigation, and production of new aircraft were signed.
Mr. Turchynov pointed out that Ukraine's exposition presented by aircraft, armored vehicles, small arms, artillery and missile industry, "is the largest since independence". "Great interest was attracted by the dynamic armor protection developed by Ukrainian scientists and engineers, which saves combat vehicles from a direct shell hit. Moreover, there was no analog at the exhibition to the unmanned ground vehicle "Phantom", which can accurately find and destroy the target, conduct reconnaissance, take out wounded soldiers in extremely difficult and dangerous conditions", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine said adding that particular attention was also drawn by new developments of "Antonov" SE.
"The Ukrainian exposition now, - Mr. Turchynov said, - for the first time demonstrates a new quality - a joint state and private partnership. New joint developments and production of state and private enterprises are presented. We will further support this cooperation and actively develop it".
"Ukrainian weapons that are being tested in battle are arousing the interest of representatives of many countries. I hope that our defense industry and all our private defense enterprises will find new customers, new partners both for joint production and sales of their products", - Oleksandr Turchynov said.
Answering the journalists' questions Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine noted that Ukraine and Turkey have a lot of promising joint projects in the military field. In particular, he reported that the Joint working group for the coordination of strategic projects was established, and it works on the practical implementation of such projects. Mr. Turchynov said that Turkish partners are also ready to invest in Ukrainian defense enterprises. "These are new large-scale projects, we are now discussing them, and I hope we will proceed from theory to their implementation", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine noticed.
