First Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy held a meeting with the leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
"It is pleasant to note that Ukraine and Pakistan have for a long time been important and reliable partners in the sphere of military-technical and military-industrial cooperation", - Mr. Hladkovskiy emphasized.
According to First Deputy to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine, today, both countries have sufficient industrial potential and considerable experience of practical cooperation in clearly outlined projects.
"I want to stress that the Ukrainian side appreciates the level of relations that has developed in the Ukrainian-Pakistani partnership", - Oleg Hladkovskiy concluded.
First Deputy to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine also met with the delegation of students and academic staff of the National Defense University of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Hladkovskiy highly praised the current level of relations between Ukraine and Pakistan and told about reforming of the Ukrainian defense-industrial sector.
"With the support of international partners Ukraine carries out step-by-step program reforms in all structures of the security and defense sector as well as in the military-industrial complex", - Mr. Hladkovskiy said.
He stressed that the Ukrainian side is working on the implementation of the NATO standards taking into account the practical experience gained by Ukrainian army in combat operations in the East of Ukraine.
"Our ultimate goal is a powerful high-tech defense industry and a leading position in the world market of modern weapons. We are working to build a system of effective management of defense enterprises and the interaction between them", - Oleg Hladkovskiy pointed out.
According to First Deputy to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine, successful reforming of the MIC will depend on providing favorable conditions for participation of domestic and foreign investors in the military-technical projects and on the support of innovative developments of Ukrainian design bureaus.
