Due to the seizure of Ukrainian enterprises and the escalation of the security situation in the ATO zone, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to stop the cargo movement along the delimitation line. This was reported by Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov after the meeting of the Council.
"Acknowledging the sharp escalation of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the forcible seizure of Ukrainian enterprises located in certain areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, realizing the aggravation of threats to economic and energy security of Ukraine triggered by deliberate actions of terrorists, and given the fact that Russia has started to recognize the "documents" of self-proclaimed republics at the state level, with a view to protecting the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens and to ensure national security of Ukraine, the NSDC decided: to temporarily stop the cargo movement along the delimitation line, till paragraphs 1-2 of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements as of February 12, 2015 are implemented, and till the seized enterprises are returned under Ukrainian jurisdiction", - Oleksandr Turchynov said after the meeting.
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was assigned to urgently develop and implement an action plan to ensure safe and reliable operation of the fuel-energy and metallurgical complex of Ukraine, to analyze the negative impact on the economy and the country's budget and to take steps to minimize them.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine with the participation the Security Service of Ukraine were assigned to immediately stop the cargo movement along the delimitation line by rail and by road and to create conditions for attracting public control over the implementation of this decision", - the NSDC Secretary added.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the National Guard and the SSU were charged to take additional measures to strengthen public security and to counter subversive and terrorist activities, as well as the attempts to breach public order.
Mr. Turchynov also noticed that the leadership of the Antiterrorist operation in Donetsk and Lugansk regions must take exhaustive measures to neutralize possible armed provocations.
"Moreover, the National Bank of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine were assigned to analyze the activities of Ukrainian banks, which have a capital share of state-owned banks of the Russian Federation, and within a day, make relevant proposals, in particular, regarding the imposition of sanctions against them", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine summarized.
