Oleksandr Turchynov: We are bound to win

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov is convinced that in a hybrid war unleashed by Russia, Ukraine will definitely win.

"We are bound to win", - Oleksandr Turchynov stated in an interview with "Censor.NET" online newspaper. At the same time, he noticed that "this won't be a blitzkrieg", and we should realize this.

"A strong army is impossible without a strong economy. Therefore, one of the priorities today is expanding our economic potential, which is directly linked to the defense potential", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed adding that: "Strong Ukraine's economy and the consequently improved living standards of Ukrainians are the key factors required to liberate the occupied territories of both Donbas and the Crimea".

Mr. Turchynov also pointed out that recent developments on the front, such as fighting at Svitlodarsk salient and in the Avdiivka area, "have clearly demonstrated that our army is much stronger than Russian hybrid troops". According to him, Ukraine now "needs about a month to completely liberate the territory of Donbas". However, he said, if such a liberation operation is launched, we still won't know how many divisions Russia will put against us. "When you reckon on the resources and capabilities of offensive operations, you must clearly understand how much force and money your enemy has. We are constantly monitoring their actions: daily delivery of equipment, weapons, mercenaries and contractors. But in all these numerous well-armed units based in occupied Donbas have the main task: in the case of our offensive blow they must survive before the main forces of the Russian army will approach", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine explained.

Answering the question, Oleksandr Turchynov emphasized the importance of maintaining the unity of the West in accessing and countering Russian threat.
