Oleksandr Turchynov: The enemy perseveres in attempts to destabilize the internal political situation in Ukraine by means of hybrid war
The enemy perseveres in attempts to destabilize the internal political situation in Ukraine using the methods of hybrid war. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in an exclusive interview with the "Interfax-Ukraine" information agency.
"The enemy failed to break through our defense at the front that is why he constantly tries to undermine the situation from the inside. This completely fits into the theory of hybrid war waged by the Russian Federation against us. Their main task is a complete internal destabilization, disorder, and chaos. It is clear that a country immersed in chaos is unable to ensure its defense. Therefore, the actions of special services of the Russian Federation are clearly directed at the internal destabilization, - Mr. Turchynov said. - They are trying to shake the situation through pro-Russian media, specially created groups in social networks, through extremist organizations and agents of influence in Ukrainian politics..."
At the same time, Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed that the attempts to destabilize the situation through mass actions which were to dissolve into riots on November 15th and 21st were defeated because the people did not support them. "As a result, there were "roundelays of the bribed crowd" on the 15th and local outbreaks of ruffians and looters on the 21st. Of course, on the 15th and the 21th, in the streets of Kyiv there were also ordinary, patriotic people who came to defend their rights or to commemorate the third anniversary of the revolution, but they were not numerous and not aimed at provocations", - Oleksandr Turchynov noted.
"I believe in the wisdom of our people, their responsibility for their country. On the other hand, the government as well should perform its functions in such a way that people have no reason to take to the streets. In fact, there should be a social contract between the government and society, when the government does its utmost to stabilize the situation in the most difficult conditions, demonstrates transparency of mobilization and allocation of scarce resources, ensures the citizens' safety and the phased increase in their income. Upon that, the citizens support the stability and security of their country considering the threats we face", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine underlined.
