Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov had a meeting with Minister of National Defense of Romania Mihnea Motoc

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov met with Minister of National Defense of Romania Mihnea Motoc.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the matter of intensification of Ukrainian-Romanian cooperation in the security and defnse sphere and collaboration in the field of cybersecurity and cyberdefense, paying particular attention to the issues of combating hybrid war, including the information one.

According to Mr. Turchynov, cooperation between our defense industries should be enhanced, "which will contribute to strengthening defense capabilities of both Ukraine and Romania".

"I believe in the need to sign an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation", - the NSDC Secretary noted, adding that this will be another step promoting the intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and Romania.

"I am convinced that our cooperation will strengthen the defense not only of our country but European security in general", - Mr. Turchynov emphasized.

In his turn, Minister of National Defense of Romania Mihnea Motoc stressed that Romania realizes the importance and potential of cooperation with Ukraine: "We are ready to further deepen and expand it".

According to him, the Romanian party "sees promising opportunities for our cooperation, particularly, in the field of rocket and missile engineering and cybersecurity".

Moreover, Mr. Motoc noticed "a significant progress in reforming the security and defense sector of Ukraine". In this context, he stressed that Ukraine could count on practical and political support to all of its efforts in this sphere. "The military challenges Ukraine faces are the challenges for the whole European security, they are a challenge for us, as well and for all of Ukraine's neighboring countries", - he pointed out.

In summary, Mihnea Motoc emphasized that Romania and Europe are interested in a reliable strong democratic pro-European partner - Ukraine, and will do everything possible to support our country on this way.
