Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine Ambassador Marie L. Jovanovich.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current security situation in Ukraine and the question of intensification of bilateral cooperation in the military-technical field.

According to Mr. Turchynov, Russia is doing its best for Donbas to remain the point of destabilization for Ukraine and Europe. "Despite the Minsk format, Russian-terrorist groupings are doing everything to disavow and disrupt the agreement", - he added.

The parties also considered military-technical cooperation in the context of military challenges in Europe and the Middle East, which threaten the security of the world, as well as joint measures in the field of combatting international terrorism.

In her turn, Marie L. Yovanovych stressed that the USA has always been and will remain a "reliable partner of Ukraine". "We are interested in continuing and deepening cooperation", - she underscored.
