Oleksandr Turchynov visited the hottest point in the area of ATO

Due to aggravation of the situation, increasing the number of shelling and provocations by the Russian terrorist groupings, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov visited the frontline in the area ATO.

Under the chairmanship of NSDC Secretary of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and with participation of Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak and Commander of Ground Forces Sergei Popko a meeting with military command of the Antiterrorist Operation took place at the Main Command Center. Its participants discussed the issues of organizing the active defense and providing Ukrainian troops with everything needed amidst the aggravation of the situation because of the actions of the invaders.

From the Main Command Center NSDC Secretary of Ukraine left for the hottest points of the front edge of defense. In particular, he visited the industrial zone near the city Avdeevka, where each day the enemy performs attacks and provocations. The industrial zone is a dominant position above the road junction near Gorlovka and defensive lines of Russian-terrorist groupings, which located there. Ukrainian troops were compelled to take control of this fortified area to protect residential quarters of Avdeevka from systematic shellings.

While staying at the forefront of defense Mr. Turchynov discussed with the leadership of sector the issues of effective response to provocations of the aggressor and ensuring protection of our military.

According to NSDC Secretary of Ukraine, spring warming has caused "the revitalization of activity of reconnaissance and sabotage groups and attempts of local armed provocations by the enemy". "We cannot eliminate the risk of massive offensive operations of Russian-terrorist forces" - he stated.

"We have to be ready to repel any aggressive actions of the enemy, having provided our Armed Forces with modern weapons and equipment" - NSDC Secretary of Ukraine said, adding that the Parliament has not provided at the legislative level the filling of the special fund of the Budget, "from which much of the State Defense Order is financed". "I hope very much that this issue will be resolved next parliamentary week", - Mr. Turchynov concluded.
