Ukraine will not consider the issue regarding the occupied territories as “closed” until they are liberated from the aggressor – NSDC Secretary of Ukraine
Until the occupied territories are not liberated from the aggressor, Ukraine will not consider this issue to be "closed". This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov commenting on the statement of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on "closing the issue of Crimea".
"Russia wants to close the issue of Crimea? But this issue will never be closed for us and for the world community, same as the issue of Donbas, until the occupied territories will not return to Ukraine and until the borders of our country, which have been recognized by the world community, are restored", - Mr. Turchynov emphasized.
According to him, Russia has the only opportunity to "close this issue" - "to get out of the occupied territories".
"The Bible says: who sow the wind, shall reap the whirlwind. This means that the aggressor, who creates precedent by trying to revise the existing borders, soon will face this very issue, but in a much larger and more devastating scale. Because Russia against a backdrop of a deep crisis and self-isolation eventually will not be able not only to retain the national-territorial autonomies, but also the territories that were torn off from other countries, beginning from the Far East and finishing with the far western regions", - NSDC Secretary of Ukraine noted.
