Armed Forces of Ukraine will be provided with modern unmanned aviation complexes of domestic production – Oleksandr Turchynov
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and the management of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" with participation of military and partners from science park "KPI" handed over to Armed Forces of Ukraine a batch of modern unmanned aviation complexes of domestic production.
NSDC of Ukraine in 2015 supported the initiative of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom" and the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic University" on the establishment of Innovative-Production Association "Kiev Polytechnic", in which cooperation between science and manufacturing were brought to a qualitatively new level.
According to Mr. Turchynov, the first example of successful activity of the Association have become the creation and manufacturing by the enterprise JSC "Meridian" n.a. S.P. Korolev of unmanned aviation complexes BpAK-MP-1, "which possess the unique flight characteristics and have successfully passed all the tests".
"The first batch of these unmanned aviation complexes will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and in the nearest future they will be sent to the areas of ATO", - he said. "We can see how quickly the scientific developments are being transformed into mass production, - NSDC Secretary noted, - In just under a year a project on mass production of Ukrainian unmanned aviation complexes was implemented".
"Exactly this mass production, starting from the design and ending with the complete complex, allows us to significantly retrench budget funds", - he emphasized, adding that such complex is three times cheaper than foreign analogues. "In the circumstances, in which Ukraine is being now, the low price and, accordingly, the saving of budget funds while maintaining the quality and military-technical characteristics is a very important advantage, that in the future will allow to successfully compete on the foreign markets", - NSDC Secretary said.
Mr. Turchynov expressed his confidence that unmanned aviation complexes "will very quickly pass all the tests" in combat conditions.
NSDC Secretary thanked the Rector of NTUU "KPI", the management of "Ukroboronprom", JSC "Meridian" n.a. S.P. Korolev for fruitful cooperation and high quality innovative developments, stressing that the establishment and effective functioning of such scientific-production associations "promotes to the preservation of the scientific potential of the country and its future development". "Young scientists are needed by their own country and should not seek a better life abroad", - Mr. Turchynov said, adding that this project is a confirmation of the capacity of the state to create conditions in order that "young scientists, engineers and designers would be able to realize themselves for the cause of strengthening and development of Ukraine".
