Oleksandr Turchynov: In the State Budget-2016 it is planned to allocate more than 5% of GDP for the defense sphere
In the State Budget for the next year, despite the difficult economic situation, it is planned to allocate more than 5% of GDP for the defense sphere.
This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov during a briefing on Tuesday after reviewing the products of non state scientific-production enterprise "Aerotehnika-MLT", which specializes in the manufacture of air defense means.
Mr. Turchynov informed that the newly adopted law on the State Budget is still in the Parliament, at the same time, "according to preliminary figures that we have, the decision has been approved to allocate over 114 billion UAH - this is more than 5% of GDP", - he said. NSDC Secretary stressed that "substantial resource" will be allocated, in particular, to restore the air defense potential.
With this Mr. Turchynov pointed out that "all enterprises, which produced anti-aircraft missile complexes, geolocation stations, are located in the Russian Federation". "Actually, we have to build up from a "zero" level our production capacity, which will make it possible to outfit our army", - he stressed.
