Oleksandr Turchynov: In case of necessity we can quickly return the weapons on combat positions, to protect our country

The provocations and shellings of Ukrainian positions by the Russian-terrorist groupings indicate that Russia in every possible way tries to derail the Minsk peace process of settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine. This was stated by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov at a briefing after examination of armament samples for "KORD" unit and special purpose units of the National Guard, presented at the National Guard proving ground, and verification firing.

According to him, only during today the ceasefire arrangements have been violated 22 times, "causing the death of one and injury of three Ukrainian military".

"All this is done to disrupt the completion of the weapons withdrawal process", - Oleksandr Turchynov said.

At the same time he stressed that Ukraine fulfills all conditions of Minsk agreements on a truce, meanwhile "the leadership of the Armed Forces and National Guard are ready, in case of real danger for our units and citizens, to effectively provide the fire cover of our positions".

"When violations on the part of Russian-terrorist groupings assume systematic character and the overall dynamics indicates that Russia refuses to fulfill Minsk agreements, we will be able to effectively and quickly return the military equipment, including heavy armament, on combat positions to protect our country", - NSDC Secretary said.
