Oleksandr Turchynov at Military Lyceum: Exactly here the military elite of our country is being formed

Exactly at Military Lyceum the military elite of our country is being formed. This was said by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov at the Kyiv Military Lyceum n.a. Ivan Bohun today during celebrations of the Day of Knowledge.

According to him, within the walls of the Lyceum the future military elite of our country is being formed. "Here the best young people learn how to be true defenders of the Motherland, to value friendship, to make decisions independently and not to be afraid of responsibility", - he said.

NSDC Secretary informed that 66 children-orphans are studying in Lyceum, 8 of them are children of soldiers, who were killed in the line of duty; there are 36 Lyceum pupils, whose parents are participants of military operations in the area of anti-terrorist operation, 45 boys - displaced persons from the area of anti-terrorist operation and Crimea.

"A special tribute and gratitude I want to express to your fathers, brothers, relatives and friends, who do their patriotic duty, taking part in anti-terrorist operation", - he said.

All present with a minute's silence honored the memory of Lyceum graduates - Orestes Kwach and Yurii Bilobrov and all the heroes, who gave their lives for Ukraine. "Their heroic names will forever remain in our hearts", - Oleksandr Turchynov said.

"The only possibility to win this war is through a combination of military art, diplomatic talent, civic responsibility and having patience as well as iron will", - NSDC Secretary added.

In addition, Oleksandr Turchynov handed over to the Lyceum arsenal training samples of modern weapons that passed the test in combat conditions in the area of ATO, to the Lyceum museum he handed over a symbol of NSDC, and to the library - the collection of books on military science.

Also, a Hero of Ukraine, the commander of battalion of 95th separate airborne brigade Major Oleksandr Porhun, a graduate of the Lyceum of 2004 addressed the Lyceum pupils.
