Greetings by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov on the occasion of the Day of Security Service of Ukraine
Today marks 23 years since the creation of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). I would like to greet all officers who defend our country in the ranks of the Security Service.
I am proud of having served and chaired the Service together with professionals like you. The SBU has experienced difficult times when it was used to fulfill political orders, when professionals were ousted and it was ruined to please the Russian secret services. But now the Service is reviving and becoming a real full-fledged, strong and efficient structure which provides counterintelligence protection for the country.
Enemy agents, saboteurs and terrorists neutralized by SBU officers, who protected the lives of thousands of people, are just another evidence for this. True patriots from the counterintelligence also defend our country on the frontline in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone. We will never forget those who died defending the independence and integrity of Ukraine. We are sincerely grateful to those who have dedicated their lives to providing the security of our Motherland.
Greetings!
