Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Olexander Litvynenko met with the Director of the Integration, Partnerships and Cooperation Directorate of the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division of the NATO International Staff Alberto Bin
On the 8th of July 8, 2014 in Staff of the NSDC of Ukraine the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Olexander Litvynenko met with the Director of the Integration, Partnerships and Cooperation Directorate of the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division of the NATO International Staff Dr. Alberto Bin.
A key topic of discussion was the issue of the status of implementation in Ukraine of NATO Initiative on building of righteousness, integrity and transparency in the defence and security institutions (Building Integrity Initiative).
Olexander Litvynenko noted the increased attention of the leadership of our country in fight corruption, informed the representative of the Alliance about the recent decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on anti-corruption measures, and thanked to the work carried out by NATO experts to develop recommendations to improve efforts of the Ukrainian government in this direction.
The Parties agreed that cooperation between Kyiv and Brussels in the framework of realization of the Initiative maintains high relevance; and using of positive experience of NATO members will help Ukraine to overcome this negative phenomenon in our country in this sphere in the future.
During the meeting the Head of the Directorate of the International Staff of NATO gave to the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine a document with Alliance expert opinions, which were made in the framework of the realizations in Ukraine of the NATO Initiative on building of righteousness, integrity and transparency in the work of defence and security institutions.
