Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Briefed the President of Ukraine on the Results of Meetings in the United States and Communication with International Partners within the Drone Deal Framework
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results of meetings in the United States, as well as communication with international partners within the Drone Deal framework.
The main issue was the agreement, mediated by American partners, on a prisoner exchange in the 1000-for-1000 format. This is one of the key humanitarian outcomes that has been the focus of active work with our US partners over recent weeks.
"We are grateful to the United States for its willingness to continue serving as a mediator in matters related to the return of our people. Bringing every Ukrainian home remains an unconditional priority for the state," the Secretary of the NSDC emphasized.
The parties also discussed the diplomatic process and a possible leaders-level meeting format as one of the key elements for intensifying negotiations, ending the war, and achieving a just and dignified peace.
The Secretary of the NSDC also presented to the Head of State the results of work on the Drone Deals initiative.
"We have signed the first agreements with interested countries, under which the relevant contracts are currently being prepared. This concerns long-term cooperation in the field of modern defense technologies, production, and the joint development of security solutions," Rustem Umerov noted.
Ukraine continues to strengthen international coordination, defense partnerships, and work on solutions that reinforce our security, resilience, and negotiating position.
