NSDC Secretary discusses new cooperation initiatives with Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine and JICA representatives

20241002.jpegOn Tuesday, 1 October, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko met with a Japanese delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Ukraine, in particular, by Special Advisor to the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), President of JICA in 2015-2022, Shinichi Kitaoka.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed issues of interaction between the two countries in the context of strengthening 202410024.jpegcooperation in the security and defence sectors, and paid attention to the prospects of attracting Japan's technological potential for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Lytvynenko thanked the Japanese Government for its unwavering support of the Ukrainian people and noted that after the victory, our country has great potential to attract foreign investment.

202410021.jpegAmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori assured that Japan is ready to continue investing in Ukraine, particularly in energy, infrastructure, healthcare, etc.

For his part, Shinichi Kitaoka, Special Advisor to the President of JICA, stressed that the 202410023.jpegagency plans to further expand opportunities for cooperation with Ukraine.

The parties noted the importance of continuing the positive dynamics of bilateral contacts and agreed on further steps in this direction.
