Energy - the challenges are extremely serious: the Head of State held a meeting with the new Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine

Stavka_29032024.jpgOn 29 March, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff discussed a number of urgent matters. Among them there were the protection of Ukrainian energy facilities from russian strikes and the replenishment of air defence stockpiles.
"This is the first meeting convened by the new NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Lytvynenko. The challenges are extremely serious. russian terrorists again targeted the Ukrainian energy sector," - wrote the Head of State.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, chairmen of the boards of Ukrenergo and Naftogaz Volodymyr Kudrytskyi and Oleksiy Chernyshov, respectively, had reported to the Council members on the damage caused and restoration work. They also discussed the most effective physical protection methods and their implementation at other facilities.
"Last night, the Kanivska and Dniester HPPs were deliberately targeted by the enemy. The terrorist country wants to repeat the environmental disaster in the Kherson region. But now it is not only Ukraine but also Moldova that is under threat. The water will not stop before the border posts, and neither will the russian war, unless we stop it in Ukraine together and in time," - said the President of Ukraine.
The second agenda item is contracts for the supply of weapons and ammunition for the near future and in the future. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the need for air defence has come to the fore: "Due to the intensity of russian shelling, it is necessary to replenish the stockpile faster. I have instructed to intensify work with our partners. We are counting on their quick response."

On 29 March, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the newly appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
