A regular meeting of the working group on preventing the circumvention of sanctions in the fuel and energy complex took place in the NSDC Staff

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, a regular meeting of the working group on preventing the circumvention of sanctions in the fuel and energy sector was held under Head of the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Ziuz, as part of the control over the implementation of the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

The working group has developed specific steps aimed at ensuring effective control over possible violations of the sanctions regime and taking effective response measures. These measures include improving cooperation with the states that are members of the sanctions coalition.

"We are fighting russia on all fronts, including the sanctions front. Among other things, the sanctions are aimed at weakening the economy of the aggressor country," Andriy Ziuz said.

As a result of the meeting, mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of the NSDC's sanctions decisions were developed, and cooperation on these issues was established with the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, etc.

For reference: The working group on preventing the circumvention of sanctions in the fuel and energy sector was established to respond to violations of the sanctions regime in this area, in particular, the possible supply of motor fuel from the russian federation to the customs territory of Ukraine.

The working group includes representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and other executive authorities, as well as representatives of the expert community.
