Oleksiy Danilov: Ukrainian air defense brilliantly fulfilled the task of protecting against aeroballistic missiles

The Ukrainian air defense system has brilliantly fulfilled the task of protecting against aeroballistic missiles. This was emphasized by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov on the air of Suspilne TV channel on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

According to the Secretary, on May 16, russia used such a large number of Kinzhal missiles because it was convinced of Ukraine's inability to shoot them down.

"After the report of the first downed Kinzhal, the russians did not believe it for a long time, believed it was not true, and claimed that it was impossible to shoot down these missiles. Our air defense system has brilliantly coped with its task," said the NSDC Secretary.

Commenting on the statement of the russian ministry of defense about the alleged destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov said: "They have to say something".

The NSDC Secretary also said that citizens who publish information about the work of air defense forces will be held accountable: "There was a case when our citizens, not understanding the very dangerous situation, posted videos. This is unacceptable. I am more than sure that they will be held accountable for this."
