Oleksiy Danilov: The russian federation has no chance of defeating Ukraine
The decision to transfer modern heavy armored vehicles to Ukraine became possible primarily thanks to the efforts of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who "takes care of this issue 24 hours a day." This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, on the air of the national telethon (TV-channel "Rada") on Thursday, January 12 of this year.
According to him, yesterday's statement by President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in Lviv about the transfer of a company of Leopard tanks to Ukraine is a "very important step" in the context of the beginning of the process of transferring tanks to our country by other partners.
"This is a very important step in order to move this issue from a standstill. We have been asking for these tanks since the summer. Now the time has come when we will finally start receiving them, he said. - It is not about the number, the main thing is that they start to be provided, and later, I am more than sure, all partners will join this process, and the equipment will be enough for us to defeat the enemy on the battlefield."
Oleksiy Danilov expressed his belief that the Ukrainian military will master these tanks "in a matter of weeks", noting that the armored vehicles in service with the russians are incomparably worse.
The NSDC Secretary also called the new aid package from the US worth more than $3 billion "unprecedented".
"I think there will be not only tanks, but also many other interesting things that we will learn about after the next meeting of the Shodo Defense Advisory Group of Ukraine in the Rammstein format," he added.
"We have no right to be tired, we are at war," he said. - We went through a difficult time, but the country has persevered, is holding on and will hold on."
Answering a question about a possible repeated attack by the enemy from the territory of belarus, Oleksiy Danilov said that the Ukrainian authorities are closely monitoring the situation in this country, which is "occupied by the russian federation", and the security and defense sector is ready for any challenges.
According to him, the next two or three months "will be very important, almost decisive in the battle for which both we and the aggressor are preparing", since the russian federation "can go all in". "We understand this and are preparing for it," said the Secretary of the NSDC. "The russian federation has no chance of defeating us."
The NSDC Secretary also stated that the russian federation should be deprived of nuclear weapons. He reminded that at one time, due to certain circumstances, Ukraine transferred its nuclear arsenal into the hands of a terrorist country - the russian federation. "Such a mistake should not have been made in any case, and it is time to correct the mistakes of the 90s," he said.
