The NSDC Staff and the Association of Small Towns of Ukraine to hold the National Forum “Safe and Capable Communities of the Future”

On February 21, this year, the Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the Association of Small Towns of Ukraine will hold the National Forum “Safe and Capable Communities of the Future”.

The participants of the Forum will discuss the implementation of the NSDC decision of April 15, 2021 “On measures of state regional policy in support of decentralization of power”, enacted by the Presidential Decree of April 29, 2021, №180/2021.

Participants of the discussion within the relevant session will include Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Minister of Communities and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Regional Policy and Local Budgets of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organisation of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development, and Urban Development Vitaliy Bezgin, Chairman of the Association of Small Towns of Ukraine, Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Pavlo Kozyrev.

The participants will also discuss modern tools and effective solutions for community development. Mayors and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Bartosz Cichotski will also join the discussion.

Another important topic of the Forum is the security of communities in terms of developing territorial defense. Participants will discuss practical steps to implement the Law of Ukraine “On the Fundamentals of National Resistance” at the state level.

This session will include speeches by First Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Roman Mashovets, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Oleksandr Zavitnevych, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Valerіy Zaluzhny, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrsky, Head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.

A joint press conference is planned, with NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov and Minister of Communities and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernysh among speakers.
