Experts of the NSDC Staff received certificates of participation in the joint NATO-Ukraine Tabletop Exercise “Coherent Resilience”

Experts of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine received certificates of participation in the joint NATO-Ukraine Tabletop Exercise “Coherent Resilience” on countering hybrid threats to critical infrastructure in the Black Sea region, which will be running in Odesa on September 13-17, this year.

This exercise is part of the Black Sea Security Package adopted at the level of NATO Foreign Ministers in 2019.

Senior officials from Ukraine and NATO, as well as about 100 representatives of Ukrainian government agencies at both national and local levels participated in the exercise.

Representatives of 15 NATO member states and partner countries were involved as observers and invited experts. The discussions were co-moderated by experts from five Centers of Excellence: NATO Centers on Energy Security, Maritime Security, Strategic Communications, and Collective Cyber Defense, and the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (this year Ukraine has officially joined the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence).

The exercise became a platform for the exchange of views and experiences, helped to strengthen interagency cooperation, build a network and intensify practical cooperation in the field of Black Sea security, aimed at strengthening global Euro-Atlantic security and the ability to counter ever-evolving hybrid threats.

The participants worked out a scenario of a comprehensive hybrid attack and potential interagency measures to neutralize it in the areas of critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity, maritime security, strategic communications, and international law.

Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Serhiy Demedyuk took part in the Day of Honored Guests, during which the results of the participants’ work were presented.
