Oleksandr Danyliuk: Systematic reform of the law enforcement agencies and unification of national legislation with best international standards will make our security and defense sector more powerful

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk met with representatives of the International Advisory Group (IAG) and the Geneva DCAF Center. Advisers to the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine for reforming power structures also took part in the meeting. The International Advisory Group and the Geneva DCAF Center were represented by Head of the NATO Representation to Ukraine Alexander Vinnikov, Security Advisor to the NATO Representation to Ukraine, Colonel Tomasz Strizakh, EUAM Deputy Chairman Fredrik Weslau, EUAM Political Director Jarabick, EUAM experts and project coordinators.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of international cooperation in implementing reforms, in particular, the reform of the security and defense sector of Ukraine.

The NSDC Secretary stressed that there is ongoing active work on improving legislation in the security sector. "Implementing systemic reforms in law enforcement agencies is a key task to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability. Unification of domestic legislation with best international standards will make our security and defense sector more powerful", - Mr. Danyliuk said.

He also thanked international experts for their advice and international experience in reforming security structures.
