O. Turchynov: Our most powerful weapon is young scientists

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov presented the NSDC Staff awards to the winners of the All-Ukrainian scientific competition of the Minor Academy of Sciences.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Turchynov noted that the best students from all regions of Ukraine took part in the competition, calling their victory "a vital one in life", and called on to congratulate the teachers who taught the students "how to research and how to win".

Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine pointed out that the authority of the Minor Academy of Sciences "goes far beyond our country" and reported an international center is being created on the basis of the Academy, where young people from 20 countries will be able to engage in the scientific activity. "Your experience and developments are interesting to many countries of the world, - he emphasized. - The MAS is becoming the center of Ukrainian science".

According to him, 60 universities and 44 research institutes cooperate with the Minor Academy of Sciences. "This is a powerful potential, which is being laid in the foundation of our state. A modern state cannot develop without powerful modern science, and modern science cannot exist without such talented scholars as you, - Mr. Turchynov stressed. - You are the future of our science, the future of our country".

In this context, he distinguished the works that are relevant for strengthening the defense and security of our country and expressed his conviction that among young scientists there future designers of powerful domestic technology and weapons. "But our main weapon is you. You are our most powerful weapon, our victory", - he concluded.
