Oleksandr Turchynov from the ATO zone: Amendments to the State Defense Order should primarily consider the priority needs of those on the frontline
Paying a working visit to the ATO zone Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov checked the provision and combat readiness of units of the Armed Forces in the "Luhansk" operational-tactical grouping. As a result of the check, Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with the ATO military leadership.
According to Secretary of the NSDC Ukraine, every day at the section of the frontline under the responsibility of the "Luhansk" operational-tactical grouping, the enemy carries out systematic fire provocations, "in particular, using weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements: artillery, tanks, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars". "Every week there are several military clashes", - Oleksandr Turchynov said adding that the enemy does not stop the constant attempts to break through our defense to advance towards the Bahmut road with access to strategically important bounds. "But all provocations of Russian hybrid troops are severely stopped by the professional actions of our military", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine noticed.
Mr. Turchynov visited the combat positions of the 58th independent motorized infantry brigade at the forefront of our defense in the area of Krymske, Novotoshkivske and Novozvanivka settlements. Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine stressed that the 58th brigade is an integral part of the overall defense system of the "Luhansk" operational-tactical grouping. "The greatest number of fire provocations in the Luhansk sector is carried out precisely in the area of responsibility of the 58th brigade, which, thanks to the courage and professionalism of its fighters, does not give the enemy a single chance to move forward", - he emphasized.
During the meeting with the ATO military leadership and the command of the "Luhansk" operational-tactical grouping, as well as while communicating with the soldiers and officers on the frontline, Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine focused on the problematic issues of military-technical support of the combat units that are at the forefront of our defense.
According to him, additions to the State Defense Order are currently being processed due to the changes to the current year's budget and the increase in the financing of defense expenditures.
"These amendments to the State Defense Order should primarily consider the real needs of the military units of the Armed Forces that directly resist the Russian aggression and not proposals of officials who do not always take into account the objective situation on the frontline", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine said adding that this refers both to ammunition and weapons, military equipment, electronic warfare systems, medical and materiel support of the military.
During the conversation on the frontline, military servicemen had many questions regarding Mr. Turchynov's proposals to increase military personnel's salaries, in particular, to review position salaries and salaries for military rank.
Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine confirmed his stance and emphasized that while planning the budget for the next year it is necessary to "establish a priority increase in the financial support of military servicemen, which cannot be inferior to the officials' salaries".
