Oleksandr Turchynov called on to create information army that will give a fitting rebuff to the Russian propaganda

According to Mr. Turchynov, the hybrid war waged by Russia against us includes not only active military actions on the front but also economic, cyber and other destructive elements. "One of the dangerous elements of hybrid war is information warfare", - he said adding that the Kremlin has worked out an aggressive technology of hybrid offence: "first come the Russian TV channels, afterwards - the Russian tanks".
"By all possible means, the Russian Federation creates a distorted information picture of the world trying to discredit Ukraine in the international arena, destabilize the political, social and economic situation in the country, undermine ethnic and inter-confessional relations", - Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine noticed stressing that the Russian Federation's goals remain unchanged - "to destroy a democratic, independent and European Ukraine and to establish control over the key geopolitical center for them".
At the same time, to Mr. Turchynov's mind, the Revolution of Dignity and the struggle against external aggression of the Russian Federation once again demonstrated that civil society in our country "can be an influential subject of ensuring national security". "Support for democratic vector of national development, assistance in ensuring the national defense capability, help to the victims of military actions in the east of Ukraine, active involvement in the fight against the enemy propaganda, conducting large-scale campaigns to inform the international community about the situation in Ukraine - all this constitute the main areas of activities of the patriotic NGOs, including those that are the parts of the international information consortium "Bastion", - he noted.
Secretary of the NDSC emphasized that today's event aims to mobilize patriotic, professional and intellectual members of civil society to fight against Russia's information aggression and is "an important step towards the consolidation of efforts of state institutions and organizations in the public sector to counter the Russian propaganda both in Ukraine and abroad". "I am deeply convinced that only by joint efforts we can effectively counter the enemy, develop and implement in practice the measures to defeat information aggression of the Russian Federation", - he said pointed out adding that the Memorandum is open to all who are ready to conduct the information fight against the aggressor.
"We invite to join our initiative all those who are ready to defend the country, to fight with the Russian propaganda, those who are willing to counter the aggressor in the information space, join efforts to create a common information army, which will give a fitting rebuff to the enemy", - Oleksandr Turchynov stressed.
