Representatives of Ukraine and NATO discussed current state and prospects of military-technical cooperation

The delegation of Ukraine headed by First Deputy to Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleg Hladkovskiy took part in the regular meeting of the Joint Working Group Ukraine-NATO on defense-technical cooperation, held at the Alliance headquarters.

The NATO party was headed by Assistant Secretary General for Defense Investment - Director of Defense Investment Department of NATO International Secretariat Patrick Auroy.

The representatives of delegations of Ukraine and NATO discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the defense-technical sphere.

The NATO party stressed, in particular, that Ukraine can continue to lot upon the Alliance assistance in the issue of support of Armed Forces and the whole Defense and Security Sector of Ukraine in the field of armaments and military equipment, as well as in the implementation of NATO standards to this area.

"During the meeting the particular attention was focused on improving the usage of mechanisms of cooperation with the Alliance for the development of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine", - Oleg Hladkovskiy said.

According to him, the respective work will be accomplished within the framework of the Roadmap of Ukraine-NATO defense-technical cooperation.

For reference. The Joint Working Group Ukraine-NATO on defense-technical cooperation is acting under the auspices of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.

Meetings are held twice a year, alternately in Ukraine and at NATO headquarters. The first meeting of the group was held in 2004.
