Oleksandr Turchynov: Ukraine will do everything possible to tear our heroes out from Russian casemates

Ukraine will do everything to free its patriots from Russian prisons. In this way NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov commented on verdict, delivered to Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov in Russia today.

"The symbol of current Russia is prison. The prison, to which holdouts are being thrown, the prison, into which the whole country with almost 150 million inhabitants is turning", - he said.

According to him, it is very symbolic that on the day when Oleg Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years, Russian authorities released Evgenya Vasilyeva, "a person who was engaged in theft of Defense Ministry of Russia for years".

"The theater of absurd and hypocrisy. Russian authorities are hiding their terrible crime and block the International Criminal Tribunal for the downed "Boeing", continue to commit war crimes against humanity in the East of our country, kidnap citizens of Ukraine to arrange show trials over them, torturing and trying to kick confessions in absurd cases out of them", - Oleksandr Turchynov said, stressing that courageously withstanding tortures, Oleg Sentsov, Nadia Savchenko and other our patriots show the whole world "true national character and that Ukrainians cannot be broken down and put on their knees".

"We will never accept the illicit verdicts of Putin's tribunals. Ukraine will do everything possible to tear our heroes out from Russian casemates", - NSDC Secretary concluded.
