Oleksandr Turchynov: The enemy concentrates forces in order to breach our defense

Over the past day the enemy has carried out the largest since the beginning of the year number of shellings of ATO forces using the heavy caliber artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. This was announced by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov in his comments.

According to his information, as a result of the shellings one military was killed, 16 were wounded. "As we have warned a provocation against the OSCE mission was a part of preparations of the offensive on our positions" - NSDC Secretary said.

Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that having burned the vehicles of Permanent Representatives of the OSCE mission and having created a problem for their moving around, "the enemy after powerful artillery preparation, have attacked, by the capacity of battalion tactical group reinforced by armored vehicles, the company fortified positions of 72nd Brigade in the direction of Novolaspa-Starohnativka".

"The offensive and attempts of the enemy to break through our defenses have been stopped, after what they were counterattacked by the ATO forces", - he said, adding that Russian-terrorist groupings, having suffered considerable losses, fled and Ukrainian warriors moved forward up to 3 kilometers, taking hold of commanding eminences.

According to Oleksandr Turchynov, the situation in the area of ATO remains tense, "the enemy carries out shellings and concentrates its forces in order to breach our defense in certain directions." "Taking the situation into account, - he said, - the President of Ukraine held an operative meeting with the Chief of General Staff, Minister of Defense and NSDC Secretary."

"The plan for responding to provocative actions and attempts to break through our defense by the Russian-terrorist groupings has been worked out", - NSDC Secretary said, summarizing that international observers have been already informed on the intensification of war crimes from the side of Russian-terrorist forces.
