Oleksandr Turchynov: Russia's strategy – is to destroy independent and democratic Ukraine
The political leadership of Russia set a task to create the situation that is happening now in the occupied parts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions in every region of Ukraine. This was stated by the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov in his interview to "Interfax-Ukraine".
"Russia may tell whatever it wants, lies and cynicism have become the dominant of its policies, but its actions tell quite a different story. Russia's strategy - is to destroy independent and democratic Ukraine", - he stressed.
Oleksandr Turchynov noted that the occupation of Crimea took place and a war in the east of the country was started exactly for this purpose.
As NSDC Secretary mentioned, the Russians planned to set the whole south-east of our country on fire: in early 2014 mass riots, Russian flags, assaults on administrative buildings took place from Kharkov to Odessa.
"In fact, Russia set itself a task to create the situation that is happening now in the occupied parts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions in every region of Ukraine. We stopped this process, we have stabilized the situation, and these their plans have failed. The attempts to carry the war over from Donbass to other regions were also stopped thanks to the courageous actions of our soldiers", - he said.
However, according to Oleksandr Turchynov, the issue of destabilizing the situation inside our country remains relevant, because the war against Ukraine is going not only on the battlefield but also in the economic, energy and information fields. So, to destabilize the situation in our country, Russia is training and using sabotage and terrorist groups, secretly financing destructive political forces and organizations, about what the abundant evidence that Security Service of Ukraine has show us.
"All this has a purpose to paralyze and as a result to overthrow the central authorities in Ukraine, spread fear, chaos and thus actually stop our movement to Europe, to stop those democratic processes taking place in our country", - NSDC Secretary emphasized.
