Oleksandr Lytvynenko: Changes in the country are possible only in case of state and civil society teamwork

Civil society plays an important role in establishment of peace in Ukraine. Such was stated by Deputy to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko during a meeting of the 11^th Assembly of Public League Ukraine-NATO on the topic "Ukraine and NATO: joint counteraction to hybrid war".

"We must clearly understand the fundamental, very important role of civil society and its initiatives. Last year in this regard was incredible, but we can do more in the field of constructive criticism, and in the development of approaches, and in the pressure on the government", - Oleksandr Litvinenko said. He added that major changes in the country can be achieved "only through the teamwork with civil society".

Deputy to NSDC Secretary said that the weakness of the institutional structure of Ukraine, incomplete formation of civil society, "provoked Russia to resume traditional actions that it has been performing in relation to its neighbors for some centuries already". According to him, it's a typical hybrid war made by the Russian Federation. "It's a very closely related complex of political, economic, informational and military activities combined by a single plan and managed from a single center", - he stressed.

As Oleksandr Lytvynenko said, Russia realizes its goal concerning Ukraine - it's the destruction of the Ukrainian state. "To achieve this, Russia has quite clear and comprehensive set of means, just changing the tactics and trying to embound the foreign support for Ukraine", - he stressed.

Deputy to NSDC Secretary also noted that Russia's aggression is a security threat not only to Ukraine but to the whole European security space.

"Victory in this war depends of us. Civil society plays an important role in establishment of peace in Ukraine", - he said. Oleksandr Lytvynenko added, that due to coordinated actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Security Service of Ukraine and volunteers, Russian plan of blitzkrieg in Ukraine suffered a defeat.
