Andriy Parubiy: Our power consists not only in the actions of the Ukrainian military, but also in full support of the population of the Eastern regions of Ukraine

The Russian terrorists every week lose support in the Eastern regions of Ukraine. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy during a web conference with the Vice-President of the Atlantic Council (Washington) Damon McWilson.

According to Andriy Parubiy even polls demonstrate a growing support of the policy of Ukrainian state by the local people of the Eastern regions of Ukraine. "Local people welcome the Ukrainian military as peacemakers. Sociology shows the growth of the rating of Petro Poroshenko and the institutions of the Ukrainian state in general. At the same time the sociology demonstrates the catastrophic fall of support of Putin in these regions", Andriy Parubiy said.

As an example, the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine quoted the TV speech of the so-called Minister of Defence of the so-called Donetsk Republic Hirkin. "Hirkin expressed offense that the local people refused to go as volunteers militant, at the same time promising 8 thousand hryvnia for those who join the Russian terrorists. This is a clear indication that the terrorists lose any support in the region. And this is the key to our success", Andriy Parubiy said.

The Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine also stressed that the success of the anti-terrorist operation is not only the actions of the Armed Forces. "Our success is hidden greatly in support of local people," he said.

Andriy Parubiy also noted that from all of Ukraine the citizens are sending the humanitarian aid - water, food, medical supplies for the residents of Sloviansc and other cities of the Eastern regions of Ukraine. "This demonstrates that Ukraine is united. The support of the population and the solidarity of Ukrainian people today - is our best weapon," he said.
